The high reliability required by mooring wire ropes directly affects the success or failure of oil and gas production operations and the cost. Due to the high manufacturing requirements, mooring wire rope products are basically monopolized by foreign wire rope manufacturers. my country's wire rope manufacturers are restricted by various factors, such as the lack of large-scale single-strand wire rope twisting equipment, the lack of large-scale tensile testing equipment, the lack of large-scale wire rope thick plastic coating equipment, and the production difficulties of high-strength and large-scale rope-making steel wires. The transportation of large-scale wire ropes is difficult, which makes it very rare for domestic companies to produce such high-tech wire ropes. However, this situation has attracted great attention from some domestic wire rope manufacturers.

Introduces the background, necessity, formulation process and main contents of the development of GB/T33364-2016 national standard for offshore engineering mooring wire ropes.

Defines the two main terms of mobile mooring and long-term mooring in offshore engineering mooring, and formulates the ordering content and technical requirements of offshore engineering mooring wire ropes. The standard mainly includes three types of wire ropes: 6-strand wire rope, single-strand wire rope and fully sealed wire rope, with a nominal diameter of 52 to 160 mm. The standard stipulates that the technical requirements of round steel wire (including center steel wire, filling steel wire and rope core steel wire) before rope making should meet the mechanical performance requirements in YB/T 5343, the coating of round steel wire refers to ASTM A586 A grade, and the special-shaped steel wire refers to EN 10264-3. The coating weight of steel wire in the wire rope does not adopt the YB/T 5343 standard, because the steel wire rope for offshore engineering mooring has high requirements for corrosion resistance. Therefore, the coating weight of 6-strand wire rope and single-strand wire rope refers to ASTM A586 A grade, and the Z-shaped steel wire in the fully sealed wire rope refers to the static use AB grade coating in the EN10264-3 standard. The grease for offshore mooring wire rope should have good lubrication and anti-corrosion properties. Therefore, the current wire rope grease standard NB/SH/T0387 is not directly adopted. Instead, the technical indicators of the grease are proposed based on the requirements of high-performance wire ropes on the market for grease: the dropping point should not be lower than 85℃, the kinematic viscosity should not be lower than 100 mm2/s (100℃), the cone penetration should not be lower than 130 (1/10mm), and the adhesion rate should not be lower than 95%. Other relevant technical requirements and test methods should comply with the provisions of NB/SH/T 0387 or user requirements.

In the national standard for steel wire ropes for mooring in marine engineering GB/T33364-2016, Tables B.1 to B.7 in Appendix B list 16 typical structures for six-strand steel wire ropes, 6 types of single-strand steel wire ropes are listed, namely 1×127, 1×169, 1×217, 1×271, 1×331, and 1×397 to 1×547, and sealed steel wire ropes are listed in two categories: three-layer, four-layer, and five-layer fully sealed steel wire ropes and six-layer and above fully sealed steel wire ropes.
